Electronic Arts is to host the London and South East heats of student design competition Dare to be Digital 2007.

EA's Guildford studio will be the base for four teams of students, who will design and build a videogame prototype over nine weeks.

Guildford joins Belfast and the original location of the competition, Dundee, as the third host centre for the widely respected event.

"Dare to be Digital represents a unique model for showcasing young talent to the UK games industry," commented Richard Leinfellner, UK studio executive producer at EA.

"It has acted as a much needed incubator for new talent and one which EA has been proud to be associated with for a number of years."
