EA teams with Gillette for Xbox Live tournament

Worldwide competition kicks off in October, winners to face sports personalities

EA Sports and Gillette are to partner for a worldwide gaming competition held over Microsoft's Xbox Live service.

Players from around the world will compete in the Gillette – EA Sports Champions of Gaming Tournament with the winners taking part in a final held in Florida, and played against sports personalities Tiger Woods, Roger Federer and Thierry Henry.

"We're excited about this terrific new partnership between EA Sports and Gillette," commented Peter Moore, president of EA Sports.

"Joining Gillette to present such an ambitious global gaming tournament as the Gillette-EA Sports Champions of Gaming is great news for sports fans and works to continue the globalisation of our brand".

Games playable when the tournament kicks off in October are Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09, NASCAR 09, Madden NFL 09, NBA Live 09 and FIFA 09.
