EA partners with TBS for four-episode The Sims reality show
The Sims Spark'd will see 12 community personalities compete in creative in-game design challenges
EA has partnered with TBS to produce a new reality competition show centered around The Sims, called The Sims Spark'd.
The Sims Spark'd will feature 12 contestants, all online personalities from The Sims community, competing in various design challenges within The Sims to impress a panel of celebrity judges: Buzzfeed Multiplayer YouTube personality Kelsey Impicciche, singer-songwriter Tayla Parx, and Maxis developer Dave Miotke. Former American Idol finalist Rayvon Owen will host the show.
The series will debut on Turner Sports' ELeague on July 17, and continue over a total of four episodes that will air on TBS on Fridays at 11 p.m.
"Since its inception, The Sims has been a groundbreaking experience, allowing players to create and virtually live out the stories they create in-game," said The Sims general manager Lyndsay Pearson.
"That's also why this show is so exciting. We're continuing that innovative spirit, bringing our community together to compete and showcase their in-game storytelling on a reality show in an entirely new way."
