Electronic Arts has extended its agreement with the FA Premier League for a further four years, with more instalments in the FIFA series planned up to and including the 2010/11 season.

The deal gives EA the exclusive rights to feature all Premier League clubs in the games, along with current kits, squads and player likenesses.

EA UK marketing manager Dan Holman said the publisher was "delighted" to have extended the deal, adding: "Our continuing relationship will enable us to maintain the high standards fans have come to expect."

The next instalment in the series, FIFA 07, is slated for a September 29 release on PC, PS2, Xbox, GameCube, PSP, Nintendo DS, GBA and mobile phones. The UK version will feature international soccer stars Ronaldinho and Wayne Rooney on the box cover.

"FIFA is always the game I play with my team mates when we travel or get together for international duty, so itâs great to return for a second year on the cover," Rooney commented.

"I feel this is the season for both the game and for me professionally to go on to achieve even greater success."
