Dudebro II
Assault rifle peripheral unveiled.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
CLEVELAND (April 1, 2010) — Grimoire Assembly Forge announced Thursday it has developed a new peripheral for use with the 3D top-down shooter it is developing titled “Dudebro™ — My Shit Is Fucked Up So I Got to Shoot/Slice You II: It’s Straight-Up Dawg Time” for release this summer for PCs and Macs.
The peripheral, called the “AF-41,” is modeled after an assault rifle in “Dudebro™ II.” It features colorful buttons on its barrel that vaguely resemble the buttons on a certain other set of popular video game peripherals and will immerse shooter fans in a whole new way. A picture of the AF-41 can be seen here: http://www.grimoireassemblyforge.com/media/af-41_controller.jpg
“Dudebro™ II” follows the exploits of elite soldiers John Dudebro™ and his sidekick Habemus Chicken as they chase anyone who threatens the world’s brodiocity — an arms dealer, a voodoo priest, an evil glee club and more. Along the way, they’ll have to fight through swathes of expendable enemies, including aliens, zombies and even yetis.
Featuring the vocal talents of Jon St. John, the legendary voice actor of Duke Nukem*, “Dudebro™ II” both parodies and pays homage to some of mainstream video gaming’s most prevalent tropes: super-macho protagonists, excessive violence and profanity, chauvinistic overtones and rampant immaturity. But it also pays respect to old-school gaming, with power-ups, pixel art story sequences and ridiculous boss fights.
The game is built on the Unity 3D engine, which can be run within any browser on PC or Mac, or run offline. “Dudebro™ II” will be a free download when it is launched on www.dudebro2.com.
Grimoire Assembly Forge is predominantly comprised of members of NeoGAF, the preeminent video game industry discussion community. The Dudebro™ team is over 150 volunteers strong, all unpaid. They are distributed all over the planet, from North America to Europe to Asia.
