Nintendo's domination of the Japanese console market continued last week as the DS and Wii once again took the top two positions in the Media Create hardware sales chart.
Meanwhile the PlayStation Portable was Sony's most popular console, outselling the PS3 almost three times over, followed by the PS2.
The DS was the only platform to significantly increase sales over the previous week, shipping 154,504 units, while the Wii dropped around 20 per cent to 86,786, in data collected between July 16 and 22.
All of the other main consoles dipped, with the PSP selling 32,894, the PS2 14,059 and the PS3 12,187 units.
Of the top ten best-selling software titles, five were DS games, and four were Wii games - while the top spot was taken by Jikkyou Powerful Pro Baseball 14 for the PS2.
Only one PS3 game featured in the top 50, which was My Summer Vacation 3 at number 50.
Microsoft's Xbox 360 continued to languish far behind the other consoles, with just 2664 units sold, and no titles in the top 50 software chart.
