DreamWorks CEO joins Zynga board

Jeffrey Katzenberg sits alongside Mark Pincus, Bing Gordon, Reid Hoffman

The CEO of DreamWorks Animation, Jeffrey Katzenberg, has joined the board of directors of social gaming firm Zynga.

"I see a lot of similarities between DreamWorks Animation and Zynga, far beyond our love of animals. DreamWorks Animation is a revolutionary technology company, a recognized consumer brand, and at its core, a media company," said Mark Pincus, Zynga founder.

"It's easy to see the value that Jeffrey will add to Zynga as we grow and look for more ways to delight our players."

Katzenberg joins Pincus and Zynga COO Owen Van Nataa on the board, alongside Kleiner Perkins' Bing Gordon, LinkedIn founder Reid Hoffman and investor Brad Feld.
