News release

27th March 2008

Ascaron Entertainment and Focus Home Interactive have released 8 new screens for Dracula: Origin, Frogware Studio’s terrifying adventure game for PC due out in May 2008.

Dracula: Origin reveals the origins of Dracula’s curse; the curse of a man tortured by the loss of the woman he held more precious than anything, yet also the woman who would rather kill herself than give in to him. Slowly, the thirst for vengeance took hold, turning the ardent defender of Christianity into a hardened servant of the Devil.

Although Dracula began celebrating terrible atrocities amidst satanic masses, he was still alive, still human, until the fateful day when he drank his rival’s blood and then made a pact, sealed for all eternity, to be damned as the first vampire.

In the game you play the role of renowned vampire hunter Professor Van Helsing, on the hunt for Dracula, who himself is on a quest for a mysterious manuscript that will give him the power to raise the dead. Your goal is to prevent Dracula from finding and using this manuscript, and killing him in order to liberate the souls of all those who have perished in his path.

Using conventional Point & Click gameplay, Dracula: Origin is a superb adventure presented with stunning visuals, combining ominous 2D environments and animated 3D characters. The game digitally reproduces the world imagined by the great author, Bram Stoker, with a rich storyline that takes you to London, Egypt, Austria and Transylvania and includes all the essential elements to create the disturbing and absorbing Gothic atmosphere.
