Soon it will be Labor Day, that glorious three-day weekend filled with backyard burgers, ice cold beverages, and of course that wonderful day off from work (unless you work in retail, the restaurant industry, emergency services, or you don't live in America). Now you could do something that some folks might consider "constructive", like spending time with friends and families, catching up on the household chores, or watching college football but we have a better idea: three days of round-the-clock, uninterrupted Dominions 3: The Awakening gaming!
In order to ensure that you have enough lead time to start boning up on the game for the beloved holiday weekend, here at Shrapnel we're putting it on sale for you right now! That's right, from August 30th until September 8th Dominions 3: The Awakening has been reduced in price to only $48.95.
Dominions 3: The Awakening is available for Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems and comes to you either as a physical product or can be had as a download. The physical version comes with a spiral-bound, three hundred plus page manual written by the esteemed Dr. Bruce Geryk. The digital version of course comes with an electronic version of the manual, but you can't use it to physically assault someone like the hard copy version.
Dominions 3: The Awakening is a turn based epic fantasy strategy game developed by Illwinter Game Design. Boasting arguably the most robust content found in any fantasy strategy game Dominions 3: The Awakening has been a long time smash hit from both fans and critics. Just how robust is the content? Consider the following in a handy-dandy bullet point list.
Currently there are 2000 units, 700 spells, hundreds of magic items, and sixty-eight nations in three eras of play. And no, these are not simply a slew of carbon copies, but all unique entities which require different strategies and tactics.
An immersive world. While there is no story based campaign the world of Dominions 3 is still rich and vibrant, thanks in no small part to the fact that one of the developers teaches myth and religion. Units and nations come alive in vivid descriptions. The three eras of play also tell their own stories, as each era alters how one plays.
Awesome multiplayer possibilities. Jump into a multiplayer game with the possibility of having twenty-one players. The preferred choice is play-by-email and finding a game is easy thanks to the strong community that surrounds Dominions 3. Check out any of the multitude of AARs available online to take a peek at how exciting multiplayer can be.
Strong modding support. From the get-go Dominions 3: The Awakening has been open to the modding community, which has done a superb job. Mods range from altering game balance to new maps to new nations.
Ongoing developer support. Since its release Dominions 3: The Awakening has been updated several times by Illwinter, and we're not talking just killing bugs. New content and gameplay modifications have been featured in every patch. We're talking at least an expansion, if not two, all for free.
Fantastic community. Games typically come and go but Dominions 3: The Awakening has never left, in no small part to the great group of gamers. They eat, breathe, and sleep Dominions and it is awesome.
Oh, and the only DRM is a serial code activation. You own Dominions 3: The Awakening, you're not just renting server space.
