(Manila, Philippines, July 20, 2010) – In line with its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, Digital Media Exchange (dme) has partnered with the Philippine National Red Cross (PNRC) to create awareness for the Filipino youth on the organization’s website and activities through dme’s online payment portal, mobiusonline.
The partnership will include free advertising for PNRC in mobiusonline. Moreover, dme employees and staff would automatically become members of the PNRC and are encouraged to promote and participate in the advocacies of the organization. The partnership will further entail dme and its employees’ commitment to regularly participating in blood-letting collection drives. PNRC volunteers in turn, will train dme staff on leadership, life-saving, and disaster management skills to further boost volunteerism especially in cases of emergency.
The activities revolving around the partnership intends to lead towards enabling the Filipino youth to avail of Red Cross benefits in the future through dme and mobiusonline.
“As a company that pursues CSR initiatives passionately, we are privileged to assist Red Cross in carrying out their humanitarian advocacies. Aside from empowering the youth to become aware of PNRC’s initiatives, we also encourage them to participate through mobiusonline and avail of the benefits from PNRC in the future,” said dme CEO and founder Scott Countryman.
Prior to sealing the partnership with PNRC, dme has been active in CSR activities that take advantage of its extensive gaming community and the breadth of its gaming platforms. In 2009, the company raised funds for the victims of typhoon Ondoy by accepting donations on behalf of victims through its mobiusonline payment portal. With the assistance of online game communities, the company has successfully conducted fundraising which assisted the victims of the typhoon.
Early this year, dme also supported a fundraising activity for the benefit of the Haiti earthquake victims. The Southeast Asian gaming community responded well to the initiative, raising a generous amount for PNRC’s relief assistance and rescue operations.
“We, as a company, are excited to support and instill the values to the company that the PNRC wants us to emulate,” said Countryman. “We are fully committed to devoting its time to future projects that the PNRC will undertake.”
mobiusonline is one of dme’s core products that offer digital media platform and payment system. The website utilizes a universal currency called ePoints used for transacting within mobiusonline. In Southeast Asia, mobiusonline is the gateway to purchasing game time and in-game items under mobiusgames. Users can also purchase cellphone load and internet dial-up time.
