Dissecta Turns Two! Celebrates with "What a DigiBLAST!"Sponsored by Tantalus Interactive.
To be held in Melbourne, Australia, Tuesday 19 June 2007
Melbourne, Australia 14 June 2007 - Video game seminar event organiser Dissecta is pleased to announce that it is two years old this month! Dissecta has held 21 events in Melbourne Australia since starting in June 2005.
To celebrate Dissecta's second anniversary, Dissecta is bringing together both hardware and software development with a touch of business reality, in What a DigiBLAST!, the story of the Melbourne designed handheld console DigiBLAST released in Europe in 2005. Speakers include Jefferson Harcourt, Managing Director of Grey Innovation, the makers of the DigiBLAST, and Grant Davies, head of Endgame Studios, developers of several fine action games for the console.
What a DigiBLAST! includes a Q&A session and complimentary networking after-show drinks. Also, Margot Ingoldby, Manager, ICT Investment & Business Development at the Victorian Government's Multimedia Victoria organisation, will be on hand to say a few words about Multimedia Victoria and their game development funding programs. This event wouldn't be possible without the generous support of Tantalus Interactive ( http://www.tantalus.com.au).
Tim Richards, founder and convenor of Dissecta, reflects that "It is a great privilege to be able to put on a forum like Dissecta and hear from so many interesting speakers from across the local video game industry over the past two years. We are very appreciative of the support Dissecta has received since starting, from the video game industry, from speakers, and audiences, and we hope to be able to continue Dissecta as a grass roots initiative well into the future. A special thank you must go out to our volunteers for making each show happen, and to our host venue, the GDAA's Australian Games Innovation Centre (the Academy of Interactive Entertainment's Presentation Room)."
Dissecta also has three massive prize packs to giveaway on the night to celebrate its two year anniversary featuring games from Red Ant Enterprises, Sierra, Atari, Activision, Blizzard, and Mindscape.
Dissecta ( www.dissecta.com) provides a regular, live event forum, for those interested in computer and video games and game making, to hear and discuss game industry issues as they relate to game publishing, development, distribution, retail, and playing. Dissecta's aim is to bring the different elements of the video game industry together with keen game fans and encourage serious and informed discussion about games and the game industry, in an inclusive way.
All tickets for What a DigiBLAST! are just $5 and booking is essential via info@dissecta.com; people are welcome to pay by Paypal or on the night. All door proceeds will be donated to the Alfred Foundation ( http://www.alfred.org.au/foundation/index.html), with Tantalus Interactive generously kicking in $250 for the Alfred Foundation as well.
The venue is the GDAA's Australian Games Innovation Centre (the Academy of Interactive Entertainment's Presentation Room), Atari Building, Melbourne, Australia.
