Disney partners with Music for Relief
Content from the non-profit organisation will appear in the company's upcoming Ultimate Band Wii title
Disney Interactive Studios has announced a partnership with Music for Relief, a non-profit organisation founded by Linkin Park, which aims to raise awareness and funds for natural disaster victims in the United States and abroad, as well as highlight the effects of global warming.
The partnership will see Music for Relief content in Disney's upcoming Wii title Ultimate Band, a rhythm-music game that works using the Wii remote and Nunchuck as instruments, due for release later this year.
"Teenagers are more socially conscious and aware of world issues now than ever before and Music for Relief helps causes that are very real to our communities and players," said Graham Hopper, executive vice president and general manager of Disney Interactive Studios.
"Whether they personally experienced a tragedy like Hurricane Katrina, or know someone abroad that has suffered from the cyclone that devastated Burma/Myanmar this past spring, teens are eager to band together and support a cause. By raising Music for Relief's profile among our gaming community, we hope to ultimately increase awareness for those that have suffered devastation at the hands of natural disasters all over the world."
