DICE finalises 2010 Summit speakers
Schappert, Pitchford, Schafer, Jaffe, Garriott all added to Las Vegas event
The DICE Summit has announced the final speakers for its Las Vegas event next month, with EA's John Schappert and Gearbox's Randy Pitchford added to the line-up.
Also joining the industry event is Joe Madureira and David Adams, founders of Darksiders creator Vigil Games, and Greg Short and Geoffrey Zatkin from Electronic Entertainment Design and Research.
Prior to the opening keynote, EEDAR will present a Hot Topics debate on three industry issues with contributions from David Jaffe, Richard Garriott, Dan Connors, Tim Schafer and Chris Taylor, amongst others.
"The 2010 Summit truly offers an incredible range of perspectives from all aspects of the games industry," said Joseph Olin, president of the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences.
"The Hot Topics segments feature some of the medium’s most accomplished voices debating single issues moderated by G4-TV’s Adam Sessler; John Schappert now chief operating officer of Electronic Arts has incredible insight on business of games. Randy Pitchford, Joe Maduriera and Dave Adams have different takes on the challenges of bringing original ideas to life. EEDAR’s Greg Short and Geoffrey Zatkin conclude the sessions with observations on consumers’ reactions to games today.
"I am thrilled to have so many senior members of the game community share their thoughts this year," he added.
This year's keynote speaker is Activision's Robert Kotick, discussing how creative talent expands the games industry. Other senior executives confirmed include OnLive founder Steve Perlman and Remedy's Matias Myllrinne.
The 2010 DICE Summit takes place at the Red Rock Resort in Las Vegas, February 17-19.
