Demolition Dash
Platformer to head up four iOS titles from German developer.
Munich/Regensburg, 16.03.2011 – The Munich based games studio Chimera Entertainment will develop four Games for Apples iOS platforms for the Regensburg based publisher dreamfab. Production will start with the platformer “Demolition Dash”, which will be available in the App Store within the second quarter of 2011, as well as a physics based puzzle game. Two additional titles will follow. The cooperation has been facilitated by remote control productions, which is the strategic partner of Chimera Entertainment and will also accompany the process.
Chimera Entertainment strengthens its engagement on the mobile sector by this cooperation. The developer from Munich has already gained experience in developing iOS games, inter alia by making a variety of versions of the puzzle classic “Memory” for Ravensburger Digital. More recently, they have also been successful in the PC sector: End of 2010 Chimera Entertainment released “WARSTORY – Europe in Flames” as one of the first browsergames with Microsoft Silverlight technology via Bigpoint.
dreamfab was founded in December, 2010. The company set the target to successfully position itself in the fast growing, multi billion euro market of digital software distribution. The first step includes the production of high quality casual games for Apples iOS, which will be high in the App Store charts through the planned use of extensive and innovative marketing techniques. dreamfab plans to port successful titles to other platforms like Android, PC (e.g. Steam), Mac App Store, WiiWare, PlayStation Network and Xbox Live.
Christian Kluckner, Managing Director of Chimera Entertainment, says: “We are happy about this inner-Bavarian cooperation. It perfectly suits our strategy to broaden our portfolio and to realize projects on different platforms. Apple’s iOS will remain an attractive platform for us, if nothing else because of the recently released iPad 2.”
Andreas Mihalovits, Managing Director of dreamfab, adds: “We see Chimera Entertainment as an experienced partner in the iOS sector. We based our decision for this development studio precisely on this experience. Chimera Entertainment has shown its expertise to produce high quality iOS games. We are looking forward to the upcoming titles and to successfully launching them on the App Store.”
