Provider of games development courses joins TIGA.

TIGA today announced De Montfort University as its newest member. De Montfort University offers a range of courses to students looking to enter the video games industry. Courses include: Computer Games Programming, Video Games Technology and Game Art Design.

Ralph Birkenhead, game programming course coordinator stated:

“Our programming course offers a balanced curriculum incorporating the latest techniques and resources for developing stand-alone, web-based, console and mobile games. Our students are equipped for a wide range of technical careers in the games and entertainment industries, as well as network programmers and web systems development. The course provides a thorough grounding in industry standard programming skills based around the C++ programming language.”

“Our Game Art Design course is a distinctive mix of creativity, talent and the very latest technology. There are regular guest lectures from industry professionals including artists, producers, art directors, studio heads and others. Students are regularly headhunted by our industry guests, and internships provide an excellent opportunity to get a head start on a career. 65 per cent of our 2010 Game Art graduates secured jobs in the games industry within three months of graduating.”
