DCI Mobile Content Festival announced

Game, application and film submissions requested

The Digital Convergence Initiative has announced details of a new festival event designed to examine the current influence of mobile devices on our culture and explore the development of mobile games, applications and films.

The festival will aim to examine the constraints and special considerations required when creating content specifically for mobile, exploring the growing use of the mobile platform as a means of entertainment and expression. The event will focus on three main categories: Games, Applications and Films.

Submissions in each category are now being accepted, and the DCI has imposed a deadline of March 1st for mobile films and March 5th for games and applications. Entry requirements can be found on the official festival website.

Entrants in each of the three categories will be judged independently, with a range of prizes on offer including a Dell Axim X51 Handheld, Sony PSP and video iPod. Winning submissions and promising entries will be displayed as part of the festival, which is scheduled to run on March 14th in Texas.
