Cyberpunk 2077 Twitch's biggest reveal this year
Stream saw nearly half a million viewers, making it the seventh most-watched game on Twitch so far for 2018
Yesterday, nearly half a million viewers tuned in to Twitch to watch what initially looked like a stream of random letters and numbers on a black screen. What it turned out to be was the first public gameplay reveal of CD Projekt Red's Cyberpunk 2077.
The 48-minute demo was the same demo shown to press at E3 2018, but was the first time the footage had been seen publicly. According to GitHyp, interest in that footage drew in a total of 459,293 concurrent viewers at its peak including restreams, with the official stream peaking at nearly 290k.
Those numbers make Cyberpunk 2077's debut the most-watched stream on Twitch for an upcoming game this year, and also put it behind League of Legends and ahead of Warframe and Overwatch as the seventh most-watched game on Twitch this year based on concurrent viewers.
At the time of this writing, the official trailer on YouTube currently has 5.2 million views.
