Jigs@w Puzzle 2's intuitive interface is divided into rooms. You'll spend most of your time in the Play Room, where you can solve puzzles for hours of family fun. The program's superb graphics include intricately shaped pieces, beveled edges, and real shadows. Selecting, turning, and moving pieces is realistic and easy.
You can play the photorealistic puzzles that come with Jigs@w Puzzle 2, or spend time in the Create Room making your own jigsaws. Use any image on your hard drive. The program even lets you use a movie as your puzzle picture; the movie plays through the individual pieces as you assemble them and complete the puzzle.
Determine the number and shape of the pieces, creating puzzles with big pieces for younger children, and challenging powerhouse puzzles for serious players. You're not restricted to traditional jigsaw piece shapes. Using a mouse, you can cut the picture or movie freely. Or choose from a library of creative templates that will add even more enjoyment to your puzzle solving.
It's easy to add music and text to your jigsaw image. When you're happy with the puzzle that you've created, you can solve it, place it in the Store Room, or turn it into a self-executing file that your friends and relatives can play, even if they don't have Jigs@w Puzzle 2 installed on their computers.
Spruce up your pictures in the Retouch Room. It's easy to rotate or crop your images. You can also adjust the brightness and contrast, sharpen the image or apply a Gaussian blur, or make gamma corrections. There's no danger of ruining the image because you can undo any of your changes, or revert back to the original picture.
Hang your completed puzzles in the Gallery Room, and enjoy a 3D walk-around of all of your artwork. Use the Store Room as the game's control center. You can choose a puzzle, scatter and play it, modify it, hang it on the wall of the Gallery Room, print the image, or email it to a friend.
Jigs@w Puzzle 2 is a complete, integrated suite of programs that let you do everything you need to create, distribute, and enjoy jigsaw puzzles.
New features in version 2 include the ability to create a standalone game that friends and family can play without having Jigs@w Puzzle 2 installed on their computers; the ability to handcraft the size and shape of each puzzle piece; support for creating puzzles based upon movie frames; a new and larger 3D gallery to display your puzzles; private and shared puzzle albums; and the addition of trays to hold pieces that you don't need immediately.
