Combat Arms Europe
Newly launched Quarantine Mode pits humans against - ugh - infected contaminants.
August 5, 2009 – Nexon Europe announces today the launch of a new player mode for its popular online first-person-shooter Combat Arms Europe. The new “Quarantine Mode” features human-versus-infected combat where players compete as human soldiers or infected contaminants. The mission is to either survive and to eliminate the infected or to infect as many humans as possible.
Quarantine Mode runs under the official title “Operation: Overdose” on a new, designated map.
At the start of each match, players are randomly selected to be the infected and the “infected team” must try to infect anyone who crosses their path with a melee attack. The opposing “human team” must either survive the mission timer or eliminate all infected in order to win the match.
The infected are immune to poison, extremely resistant to bullets and moderately resistant to fire, explosives and melee attacks. They also have double the normal stamina and an increased amount of health, and human players will have to use the weapon knockback feature to keep the infected away and use strategic teamwork to defeat the hordes of deformed former soldiers.
Today’s update also brings various promotional events and new powerful weapons including new machine guns, shotguns and a flame thrower.
