CMP has announced a dedicated event targeting PC gaming consumers with support from hardware manufacturers Dell and Alienware.
Taking place September 8-9 at the Austin Convention Centre, the event promises to be a showcase and forum for the future of PC gaming, allowing consumers access to pre-release games, conferences and content.
"PC Game On celebrates PC gaming as the crucible of innovation in the industry, the place where most game developers get their start, and the driver of digital distribution, MMOs and virtual worlds," commented Katherine Schoback, group director at CMP Game Group.
"Considering media attention of late has focused solely on the console wars, PC deserves its place in the sun."
CMP is promising full support from game publishers, hardware manufacturers and software companies at the inaugural event.
"There is incredible innovation happening in the PC gaming industry, including great technology enhancements, as well as unbelievable advances in game development," said Susan Kittleson, director of games marketing at Dell.
"To be able to provide the attendees real-time access to high performance gaming rigs and the hottest PC games is an exciting challenge that will underscore the commitment that is building in the digital gaming industry, and in particular PC gaming," she added.
