CMI National Management and Leadership Awards
TIGA a finalist for "Most Prolific Issuer of Press Releases Award". No, sorry - "Outstanding Organisation of the Year Award".
TIGA, the trade association representing the UK games industry, today announced that it has been named a finalist in the CMI National Management and Leadership Awards in the category of ‘The Outstanding Organisation of the Year Award (SME)’.
The National Management and Leadership Awards are organised by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI). The CMI contends that the future wealth and prosperity of the UK is dependent upon a competitive and determined mindset. Organisations are best placed to incorporate that mindset through strong leadership, good management, and a system of continuous improvement and learning. These awards are a benchmark against which organisations will be able to measure their capabilities in these areas. The CMI Awards specifically judge organisations on the fabric of their structure in addition to financial success. Criteria include the quality of an organisation’s processes, communications, continuous learning and good governance.
The CMI will announce the winners of each category at an awards dinner in London on 14th October 2010.
Dr Richard Wilson, TIGA CEO, said:
“We are delighted that TIGA has been named by the CMI as a finalist in the category of ‘The Outstanding Organisation of the Year Award (SME)’. TIGA’s vision is to make the UK the best place in the world to do games business. If we are to achieve this vision then we must ensure that TIGA is a high performance, vibrant and successful organisation. We are thrilled the CMI has recognized the hard work and dedication of our team and of the TIGA board.”
Jason Kingsley, TIGA Chairman and CEO and Creative Director of Rebellion, said:
“Being shortlisted as a finalist in these Awards is a major achievement. The TIGA board and TIGA team are determined to continuously improve our performance in order to serve our members still more effectively.”
Mark Gerhard, TIGA board member and CEO of Jagex, said
“I am delighted that TIGA has reached the finals in the CMI’s nationwide competition to judge business success. TIGA’s progress is a testament to the determination of the team, the commitment of its board and above all, the support of its members. I am sure that all of TIGA’s members will be delighted by today’s news.”
