Clash of Clans iOS players have spent over $4 billion
Popular mobile strategy game is the highest grossing iOS title over last nine years
Clash of Clans has remained on the top grossing charts for some time now, and its dominance only continues to grow. Currently, the game has generated over $4 billion in revenue on the App Store alone since launch, and is the highest grossing game on iOS from July 2010 to May 2018.
According to data from App Annie reported by PocketGamer.biz, that $4 billion is large enough to out-gross games over a period far longer than the game has been out, as it launched on iOS in August of 2012.
Candy Crush Saga, Monster Strike, Puzzles & Dragons, and Honour of Kings take the 2nd-5th spots, respectively. Candy Crush Saga is the ultimate winner over the same period in terms of pure downloads at 280 million.
Company-wise, Supercell's owner Tencent is still bringing in the most cash of any company on iOS, especially from Honour of Kings and with help from the recent release of PUBG on mobile. But Supercell itself is close behind on its own, followed by NetEase.
