Clank Crashes Into Birmingham!
Infinite Frontiers, the retro gaming website, has confirmed that leading TV, animation and game voice actor David Kaye, the voice of Clank from the Ratchet And Clank series of games on the Playstation 2, will be the guest of honour at it's annual UK Transformers convention, Auto Assembly: Target 2006 on 3rd June 2006 in Birmingham, UK!
David is the guest of honour this year and has been providing the voice of Megatron in several Transformers television shows since 1996 as well as starring in the 2004 Transformers game for the Playstation 2 from Atari and will be making his UK convention debut.
About David
Canadian actor David Kaye has been the lead actor in various Transformers televsion shows since 1996 playing the voice of Megatron. He first appeared in Transformers: Beast Wars which is celebrating its 10th Anniversary this year, followed by Beast Machines, Armada, Energon and the current series Cybertron.
On television, David has made guest appearances in shows such as The X-Files, Battlestar Galactica, The Outer Limits, X-Files spin-off The Lone Gunmen, and many more and in his specialist field of animation voice work he has starred in a wide range of shows alongside his Transformers work including playing the lead role of Professor X in X-Men Evolution as well as voicing characters in such shows as Jackie Chan Adventures, Kong: The Series, Robocop, Dragonball Z, and Reboot to name but a few from his extensive resumé.
Finally, David's gaming credits are extensive and include voice work on titles as varied as Ratchet And Clank series, Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance II, The Hulk, Doom 3, Kessen, the newly-released Psychonauts, and reprising his most-famous role as Megatron first in Bam Entertainment's Beast Wars: Transmetals game for the Playstation and Nintendo 64 and most recently in Atari's Transformers game for the Playstation 2 in 2004.
About Auto Assembly: Target 2006
Auto Assembly is the UK's longest running Transformers convention, founded in 2000 by Sven Harvey, and Auto Assembly: Target 2006 is our sixth event. Auto Assembly is an annual non-profit making Transformers convention run by Infinite Frontiers that takes place in Birmingham. The convention has grown in size every year and in 2005 broke the European attendance record with 409 fans attending from all over the UK, Europe and as far afield as Australia.
The 2006 convention is a one-day event taking place on Saturday 3rd June 2006 in the Clarendon Suites in Birmingham. The convention is being held in aid of the Acorns Childrens Hospice Trust, a local charity, and is a day packed with activities including toy dealers travelling from all over the UK, video screenings, guest talks, toy and art displays (including original artwork from Transformers comics from the last 20 years), competitions, fan displays, a bar(!), and much more offering a day of entertainment.
We are also running various charity activities during the day including a charity raffle and auction with some rare pieces of merchandise, original artwork, and autographs of actors who have provided voices for characters in Transformers TV shows and top computer and video games.
In addition to David Kaye, there are currently seven other confirmed guests in attendance with more to be announced shortly. These include comic and TV writer Simon Furman, leading comic artists Andrew Wildman, Lee Sullivan, Guido Guidi, Geoff Senior and Simon Williams and comic colourist Jason Cardy. All of the guests will be giving talks on stage and signing autographs throughout the day.
