City of Heroes Serves Up New Titles
Europe's leading gaming websites invite players to choose winning European server names
Monday 31 January 2005/... NCsoft Europe is delighted to announce the names of the official game servers for the forthcoming release of City of Heroes across Europe. The English language servers will be called Defiant and Union, the French server will be known as Vigilance, and the German, Zukunft (or 'Future').
Competitions to decide the names were held on the ever-popular websites Eurogamer, Jeux Online and 4Players to decide the names. Hundreds of suggestions were slimmed down to the winning four by City of Heroes' developers, Cryptic Studios.
Winners receive not only the satisfaction of knowing that they have named a server, but also a selection of exclusive City Of Heroes merchandise.
"We were especially pleased by the response from across Europe, and the creativity of our community in choosing these names," says Stephen Reid, Content and Community Manager at NCsoft Europe. "This really gives our servers the personal touch. Our thanks also go out to the websites too, who were incredibly helpful in organising this competition."
City Of Heroes starts shipping throughout Europe this week, exclusively for PC.
