Cirondo ‘the board game’ ready for Christmas
September 28th, 2004: Shoppers looking for an alternative to socks and perfume are in for a treat this Christmas as the smash online hit Cirondo is to be released in traditional board game format.
Easy to learn, a lifetime to master, Cirondo is a strategically challenging game with the depth of chess but the simplicity of draughts or chequers that keeps online players entertained for hours.
Boasting a powerful game engine and a compelling and engaging theme, Cirondo received rave reviews when it was first released in 2002. Cirondo 'the board game' replicates this standard of excellence.
"We wanted to retain the magic of the online version when reaching out to board game lovers," said CGCL¹ Sales Manager, Rebecca Wright. "We have carefully selected unique and stylish pieces and created a sleek and appealing game design to ensure the high level of gameplay feel is maintained."
Suitable for families, adults and teens, two or four player battles for galactic domination are resolved on a unique round board, with solid metallic pieces advancing or defending in arcs and circular movements adding a new dimension to traditional board gameplay. Cirondo forces players to look 3 or 4 moves ahead in an addictive game of attack, defence and sacrifice. A junior version of Cirondo, a magnetic travel edition and a CD-ROM version of the game are all under development.
"We are convinced Cirondo will become a proven market leader in the strategic board game arena," Wright continued. "Non-exclusive distribution contracts are in place to cover the release of Cirondo in board game format at the end of 2004 in the main European and North American markets."
Cirondo the board game will be available at all the usual retail outlets at a recommended retail price of £29.95. Further information can be found on the CGCL website www.cgcl-group.co.uk or on the Cirondo gaming site www.cirondo.com
