Chorus
iPhone/Pod/Pad recommendation service's game download stats for March.
Andover, MA – April 29, 2010 – envIO networks, a leading social networking software development company, today announced results from its latest report that covers the top recommended apps, free apps, and paid apps for the month of March.
The following top ten lists for March 2010 were based on tens of thousands of user interactions and download attempts from live apps within the iTunes Store. Most surprising of all the data is that games held four of the top five paid apps within the category while last month’s report contained no gaming apps in the top five.
Based on the data, Chorus sees a big trend among consumers who are turning to their iDevice as a mainstream gaming platform. The company believes this trend will continue as developers continue to innovate for the platform and deliver a compelling entertainment experience under the $10 mark.
According to user activity on the Chorus application, two of the top paid apps were popular next generation console titles, Assassin’s Creed II and Final Fantasy, which rose to the number one and number six positions respectively. In the free apps category, oMoby, a visual search app and Vlingo, a voice-enabled app, held the #1 and #2 spots respectively based on download attempts. Fastmail, a messaging and email program and LoKast, a media sharing app, topped the list of most recommended apps by the Chorus community.
The company’s latest reports provide a solid measure for developers and publishers to determine the most popular apps available and which ones consumers recommend to their friends the most.
