Chinese trade mission targets GDC to forge links with US

Top executives and VPs from China's biggest games companies will be visiting the US this month to establish potential technology partners, with the intention of driving relationships forward for both countries.

Organised by China GC Networks and CMP Game Group, the main priorities will be a focus on publishing and operating Chinese and US made Massively Multiplayer Online Games in the respective markets, as well as opening up dialogue on technology, tools, localisation and other business services.

Games developers, outsourcing companies and major online game operators will visit the Game Developers Conference in San Jose, followed by an event hosted by Washington State Department of Community Trade and Economic Development, as well as visiting a number of Seattle-based game companies.

Those companies involved in the mission include casual game specialist Tencent Technology, MMO publisher and developer Optic Communications, RealNetworks China, indie game developers Radiance and Pearl Digital, outsourcing specialist Shanghai ArtCoding and the Shanghai Game Developers Association.
