CHANGE YOUR POINT OF VIEW WITH PRO RUGBY MANAGER 2

Digital Jesters Unveil New 2D Tactical Display

14th January 2005

Not content with allowing armchair managers to coach their favourite teams in photo realistic 3D, Pro Rugby Manager 2 is set to offer a 2D tactical display, bringing a whole new level of strategy to the world's number one rugby management game. The new option will provide gamers with all the tactical information, statistics and available strategies as well as a crystal clear representation of the match as it plays out.

The 2D tactical display has been developed in collaboration with the Heineken Cup winning rugby star Francois Duboisset who has provided Pro Rugby Manager 2 developers Cyanide with valuable insights into the intricacies of the game and how these could be most accurately represented on screen. « The new bird's eye view give a better overall view of the game, » says Duboisset « You get a better understanding of the ebb & flow of real rugby."

The whole interface has been designed to provide a more dynamic and intuitive experience when taking control of a team on match day. Of course it is still down to the preference of the individual manager whether they choose the new style tactical view or continue to take advantage of Pro Rugby Manager 2's 3D action mode with photo realistic stadiums and recognisable stars from clubs and countries around the world.

"With Pro Rugby Manager 2 we were determined to provide fans of the original game with a deeper, more flexible experience," says Leo Zullo, Marketing Director, Digital Jesters. "The implementation of the new 2D tactical display helps tie the realistic management and the dramatic match action together like never before, allowing each gamer a greater choice in how they choose to manage their favourite club or country"

To celebrate this announcement, Digital Jesters have re-launched www.prorugbymanager.com, with loads of new features and content, and have included an easy to follow flash walkthrough of the new 2D simulation.

Pro Rugby Manager 2 is due for release on the 25 th February 2005 priced £34.99.

Note to editors: Founded in 2003, Digital Jesters is a British-based publisher of computer and video games. Set up by the duo responsible for launching and establishing the Sudden Strike and Cossacks series of games in the UK, the firm's remit is simple: to source and publish the best games available. The company's commitment to originality resulting in it snapping up the original TrackMania game from French developer Nadeo and DJ's ethos of community development strategy resulted in the game becoming one of the sleeper hits of the year. A tie-in with record-breaking yachtswoman Ellen Macarthur for the firm's second release Virtual Skipper 3 ensured the game received widespread attention among the elusive non-gamer, and firmly placed the publisher on the map. The firm has enjoyed three top 10 PC hits, one of which is from the developers Cyanide, creators of Pro Rugby Manager and now DJ is expanding its operation to cover additional territories. It has also published its own comic book to widespread critical acclaim.
