Championship Gaming Series Releases Details Of 2008 North American Combine And Draft
Press Registration Now Open for March 8-9 Event in Austin
WHAT: With the 2008 North American Combine and Draft fast approaching, CGS, today released additional details of the big event being held March 8-9 at the South by Southwest (SXSW) ScreenBurn Arcade in Austin, Texas. This will be the one opportunity for aspiring professional gamers to showcase their skills for CGS and compete for a spot on one of the six CGS North American teams.
General Managers and their staff will be evaluating players in the six official game titles: Counter-Strike: Source and FIFA 08 on PC; Dead or Alive 4 and Forza 2 for Xbox 360. Following the Combine, the General Managers from San Francisco Optx, Los Angeles Complexity, Dallas Venom, New York 3D, Carolina Core and world champion Chicago Chimera will select players at the CGS North American Draft, where players will receive contracts as CGS professional gamers for the 2008 season.

WHEN: Combine: Saturday, March 8 - 11:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Sunday, March 9 - 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Draft: Sunday, March 9 - 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
WHO: CGS Commissioner Andy Reif, CGS Official Spokesperson and Commentator Johnathan "Fatal1ty" Wendel, CGS franchise and other players plus General Managers will be available for scheduled interviews.
As space is limited, eligible players who are 18 and older wishing to compete in the 2008 Combine must either register online to reserve a spot in the tournament, receive and invitation from a General Manager or win a CGS online tournament. All players who compete in the Combine will be invited to the Draft.
