Chad Koehler appointment

F9ormer Activision exec now VP and head of studios at developer Zivix.

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – June 7, 2010 – Video game developer Zivix today announced it has promoted Chad Koehler as the company’s new Vice President and Head of Studios. Koehler’s technology company Digital Clay Studios has been partnered with Zivix since 2008 and the new Zivix position will have him leading corporate strategies, development and the launch of the newly announced music videogame JamParty: Be the Music along with several other unannounced music console titles. A former Activision executive, Koehler brings 16 years of gaming experience to Zivix and will oversee game development, technology integration and business development.

The recently announced JamParty: Be the Music casual music videogame is coming to console for digital download and PC in fall 2010. Developed on Gamebryo LightSpeed, JamParty: Be the Music enables burgeoning musicians to become instant producers, mix-masters, and lead guitarists. Players can transition their mastery of traditional rhythm based music games into actual player-controlled live music creation using JamParty’s gigantic library of chords, beats, vocals, and soundscapes. Users can create and play songs, then share their music with other players as MP3s or upload to listening devices and social networks. JamParty is designed for use with the new full sized Peavey HeroMaker guitar, and is also compatible with existing USB supported Rock Band ® and Guitar Hero ® guitar controllers.

Peavey Electronics and Zivix will debut JamParty: Be the Music and the HeroMaker guitar peripheral at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), June 15-17, 2010, West Hall booth #5727.
