The Championship Gaming Series has announced details of the breakdown of prizes that will see over USD 1 million distributed to gamers in the finals event in Los Angeles in December.
The Championship Gaming Series has announced details of the breakdown of prizes that will see over USD 1 million distributed to gamers in the finals event in Los Angeles in December.
The event, which will be broadcast to a potential audience of 350 million in the US, UK, Asia and South America, will feature a USD 500,000 top prize for the team crowned world champions.
Among the games being contested by each team are Counter-Strike: Source, FIFA 07, World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade and Project Gotham Racing 3.
Twelve teams of ten players will vie for the prize pot, including two teams from the UK - Birmingham Salvo and London Mint.
In addition to the team prizes, some individual events will also take place, each offering USD 5000 top prizes.
The first round of the finals event will take place on December 6 at Sony Studios, with the grand final concluding the event on December 14.
In the UK the CGS will be broadcast on Sky One, Sky Two and Sky HD, while in the US it will screen on The 101.
