CGS announces executive team

The Championship Gaming Series, which recently concluded its first world final, has formally rounded out its executive team

The Championship Gaming Series, which recently concluded its first world final, has formally rounded out its executive team.

Joining CEO and commissioner Andy Reif will be Geoff Stevens as COO, Michael Burks as executive producer, and Michael Widman as general counsel.

The organisation also added Kieve Huffman as senior VP of business development and sales, Scott Valencia as senior VP of operations and Jason Katz as VP of Global Marketing.

CGS broadcasts to more than 350 million viewers around the globe and continues to expand to multiple distribution platforms, said Reif.

Stevens most recently served as the VP of product management at mobile entertainment provider Infospace and was GM of local and movile for Yahoo! as well as an executive with The Walt Disney Company.

Burks is an 11-time Emmy-award winner, who has produced more than 2,300 shows worldwide, including 25 NFL and NBA seasons as well and eight Super Bowls, ten NBA Finals, ten All-Star Games, seventeen March Madness Tournaments and five Olympics.

General Counsel Widman held executive positions with The Walt Disney Company and Simon Marketing, negotiating transactions worth over USD 5 billion with companies such as FedEx, Kodak, GM, Nestle, AT&T, Coca-Cola, McDonald's and MasterCard.

Launched in 2007 as a joint venture among BSkyB, DIRECTV and STAR, CGS features teams of the world's best gamers from North America, Latin America, the United Kingdom, Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Australia.
