CCP Games CEO confirmed for GameHorizon

Hilmar Pétursson confirmed as a speaker at Gateshead-based conference

GameHorizon has added CCP Games CEO Hilmar Veigar Pétursson to the line-up of speakers at this year's conference.

Pétursson joined CCP as CTO in 2000, where his experience was vital to the development of the studio's award-winning MMO, EVE Online.

Since then, Pétursson has been instrumental in expanding the company's operations, overseeing a strategic merger with White Wolf Publishing in 2006, and establishing new offices in North America, China and the UK.

CCP's ambitious free-to-play online shooter, Dust 514, was confirmed as a PlayStation exclusive during Sony's E3 press conference, with a closed beta due before the end of the year.

The GameHorizon Conference takes place at The Sage in Gateshead from 28th to 29th June. Speakers include Eidos' Ian Livingstone, Epic's Mark Rein, Zynga vice president Louis Castle, and Schell Games CEO Jesse Schell.

Tickets for the conference are available at the discounted rate of £229 + VAT until the end of the day.
