Cartoon Network appoints new head of games
Chris Waldron promoted to VP role overseeing development, production and strategy
Cartoon Network, part of Turner Broadcasting System, has announced the appointment of Chris Waldron to the role of VP for gaming operations.
The promotion will see him placed in charge of the Network's own development studio, and he'll oversee production and general strategy for the company, while also continuing to serve as executive producer on the Cartoon Network Universe: FusionFall MMO title.
"Chris continues to be one of the great leaders of our digital team, overseeing the successful launch of our largest and most ambitious game to date - FusionFall," said Paul Condolora, senior VP for digital at Turner. "His commitment to quality gaming, relationships with game developers and expertise in the industry make him ideally suited to oversee our gaming efforts."
Waldron, who arrived at Cartoon Network in 2000, previously served as director of technology, while he also led production on Codename: Kids Next Door - Operation: BEST in 2004.
