Capcom appoints new executive VP

Capcom has announced the appointment of Mark Beaumont to the role of executive vice president, officer and head of consumer software publishing for North America, South America and Europe.

Capcom has announced the appointment of Mark Beaumont to the role of executive vice president, officer and head of consumer software publishing for North America, South America and Europe.

Beaumont was formerly Capcom's senior VP for the Americas, a position he held since 2005. He will now oversee the company's operations throughout Western territories, including Australia, reporting to managing corporate officer Katsuhiko Ichii and CEO Hiroshi Tobisawa.

Beaumont's career in the games industry began more than 25 years ago with a role at Atari, and he has since worked in marketing, product development and management. He has focused on the European and American markets for more than five years.

"Mark has significantly and steadily grown revenue in the Americas by revamping the sales organisation, driving market awareness, consolidating distribution, improving forecasting, increasing inventory control and taking two of our largest retail accounts direct," said Tobisawa.

"We are positioning Capcom for the future by strengthening our presence and development in the West. Mark will now apply his strategies, which already have resulted in strong North American growth, to the European markets."
