JACK IN TO WIN CAPCOM®'S MEGA MAN BATTLE NETWORK® 6 TOURNAMENT AT COMIC-CON INTERNATIONAL 2006

SUNNYVALE, Calif - July 10, 2006 - Get those battle chips ready! Capcom® today announced it will host the first stateside Mega Man Battle Network® 6 tournament at the Comic-Con International convention in San Diego later this month. Up to 32 net battlers will participate in a round based elimination format for a chance to win one of two grand prize Nintendo DS Lite systems, courtesy of Nintendo of America. Registration will take place at the show in Capcom's booth #4145. The tournament will be on Sunday, July 23, from 10:00am-12:00pm, in Room 29 C/D which is upstairs from the exhibit floor. Comic-Con 2006 will take place at the San Diego Convention Center from July 20-23. More details on the tournament can be found at www.capcom.com. All registered contestants must check in for the competition at Room 29 C/D, one hour before it begins on Sunday. Net battlers will receive three Mega Man® tokens to begin with and can acquire more by defeating other opponents. Up to 32 players will be divided into groups of six and will play through two 30 minute rounds. At the end of each round, players with the most tokens will continue. The top two competitors will receive grand prizes of Nintendo DS Lite systems. All players must bring their own hardware and copy of the game. Capcom will provide Game Boy® Advance Game Link® Cables for the competition. Acceptable hardware includes: Game Boy® Advance and Game Boy® Advance SP. However, Nintendo DS, Nintendo DS Lite and Game Boy® Micro systems will not be allowed. In addition, wireless adapters, e-Readers or cheats will also not be allowed. The popular net battle series reaches a dramatic climax in Mega Man Battle Network 6 Cybeast Gregar and Cybeast Falzar, as familiar heroes, Lan and Mega Man, find themselves on unfamiliar terrain both in the real and cyber worlds. In addition to a new town and storyline, fresh features change up the gameplay. A new "Cross System" allows Mega Man to utilize the special power of allies in battle. Another powerful advantage is the "Beast Out" system, resulting from Mega Man's absorption of the powerful Cybeasts. While a Cross is equipped, Mega Man can also Beast Out, combining the forces of these two systems to maximize the power of the Crosses even further. Players can use Game Link Cables to trade programs and battle chips with others as well as competing in highly charged Net battles.
