Candy Crush Saga revenue spikes 18% in Q2 to over $200m
King's six-year-old game ranked No. 7 for global app spending and No. 6 for games
Pulling in $213 million over Q2, King's Candy Crush Saga was the highest grossing mobile game from a Western developer across both the App Store and Google Play.
According to Sensor Tower Store Intelligence, Candy Crush Saga experienced an 18 per cent growth year-on-year, up from $180 million, and remains one of the most profitable mobile games ever despite launching six years ago.
Overwhelmingly popular in the US, 56 per cent of Candy Crush Saga revenue came from the region during Q2. Meanwhile, Great Britain was a distant second with only six per cent of the total.
Overall, Candy Crush Saga was ranked No. 7 in terms of app spending across both stores, and No. 6 for mobile game revenue, outdoing even Pokémon Go and Clash Royale.
It is the highest-grossing game in King's roster, surpassing Candy Crush Soda Saga and Candy Crush Jelly Saga which ranked at No. 19 and No. 127 respectively.
