Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Features level intros put together by London-based graphics studio SPOV.
SPOV, the London based motion graphics studio, recently teamed up with the all conquering Infinity Ward to design and produce 17 level intros for their latest blockbuster release; Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
Infinity Ward were keen to retain the look and feel of the cinematics SPOV produced for their first release of Modern Warfare, but to also add the extra polish and detail for which the UK studio have an ever increasing reputation. Rather than opt for full blown CG storytelling in a classic “cut-scene”, SPOV produced 17 multi-layered “infographic” movies to inform the player of their mission status and overall progress within a very complex narrative. Working alongside the design and production departments at Infinity Ward, SPOV produced an enormous volume of highly detailed animation to Infinity Ward’s exacting standards in a very short turnaround time.
“Working with the mighty “IW” is always a privilege”, says SPOV’s founder Allen Leitch, “These are people with the highest possible standards and to be included in the phenomenon that is MW2 is quite a humbling, but hugely rewarding experience.”
