About Caesary:

Caesary is a web based strategy game with a Roman theme. Players start with a small town and must gradually build it up into a thriving city-state. The gameplay mechanics, interface, and visuals are very similar to prior strategy games, but Caesary does offer a few surprises. Among these is the colony system that allows weaker players to pay tribute to a powerful player in return for protection, Zodiac Ceremony, Job Creation, and League Contribution.  Caesary offers a lot of remarkable new features, such as Flash-based Battle Replay, Detailed Battle Report, and Legendary Hero Recruitment.

Other than the visual style and occasional animal sacrifice; Caesary plays like an Empire-building game from any other era. By encouraging players to have a lot of actions and never having to wait until the next day to play again, Caesary’s game design highly encourages players to play throughout the day.

MMORTS (Massively Multiplayer Online Real Time Strategy) games, especially the more sophisticated ones like Caesary, Evony and others, usually mean lots of time commitment, and require great attention to detail to the flow of money, lumber, soldiers and building. Handling a city in Caesary  is nothing like playing SimCity or Age of Empires. Economics, inhabitants, religion, prestige, honor, and many more factors are at work to hamper the play-and-put-down look of the game from a non-experienced gamer.

Caesary is a great city building game that puts you in control of your own ancient city with a Romanesque style theme. The basic goals are to build structures for your citizens and other buildings that enable you to develop an army. This is no easy task and it’s a constant struggle to keep the balance between accumulation of resources and expansion of army. Since everybody will have an army, the situation requires players unite to form their own league. Together with a league, players can battle other leagues for control of the whole Roman world!

Gone are the SimCity days of just building roads and commercial areas so your citizens can go to work,  In Caesary, you can hire for specific jobs, then train and upgrade your workers for higher productivity. Give a speech and inspire more workers to work even faster. The growth of your city relies on how you balance the economy. If you want more residents, you need more cottages, which means you need more resources, which leads to more workers to get the resources, but more workers also consumes more resources. Caesary is a delicate and life-like economic balancing act.

The in-depth level of resource management gives players a taste of what it really feels like to have control. You will have shortages and surpluses, find bonuses, require extra labor be devoted to extracting a certain resource and even implement special items to raise productivity. Many real time strategy games have only a few set resources that work only to advance your army and city building. Not in Caesary, which embraces the reality of an army that is dependent on resources, so players may find themselves often discouraged from launching too many campaigns lest see their city's economy flounder. This makes it hard for players to amass huge armies for attacking opponents with impunity - if your economy tanks during expeditions, you won't have enough goods to support defenses, upgrade buildings and all things necessary for sustained growth. In short, Caesary is far from being a military-focused casual game, but a game that really makes you think about 2 things: how to get gain and maintain resources, and what you're doing with your resources. Not all players, especially casual players, will welcome Caesary with open arms, due to this resource micromanagement requirement.

Caesary, like all of Dragonsmeet’s games, is free-to-play and will not require players to download -- all play data is saved online. It is also free to play, but special items can be purchased via the game's online item mall.
