Dr Tanya Byron will be speaking at the ELSPA forum, part of this year's London Games Festival, on the subject of the government report which she is to author.
The Byron Review, announced earlier in the year, will seek to understand better how to protect children from harmful images, and has been linked to the issue of violence in videogames.
ELSPA director general, Paul Jackson, said of Byron's speech: "Her attendance will offer first hand information to our members on the Byron Review and offers the video and computer games industry an arena for its input into this review. We look forward to hearing what Dr Byron has to say as well as offering our members a voice to the heart of the review."
The ELSPA forum will also look at the problems that negative publicity has caused for the games industry in the past year, as well as focusing on several studies that detail cases in which videogames have been cited as a contributing factor.
The forum will take place at the Royal Society of Medicine in London on October 22, starting at 11:30am. Attendance is open to everybody, but places must be registered with Phillip Carlsson at ELSPA.
