Buongiorno licenses Transformers for mobile content

Cult franchise heading to wireless users in EU and beyond

Multimedia entertainment provider Buongiorno Vitaminic has secured a new digital licensing deal with the Hasbro Properties Group to bring a range of Transformers branded content to mobile phones.

Under the terms of the agreement, Buongiorno will have access to a full selection of images and sounds from the first generation Transformers, in addition to Transformers Armada, Transformers Energon and the soon to be launched Transformers Cybertron.

The company will offer mobile phone users in EMEA territories a comprehensive choice of branded mobile content, including video downloads and streaming, videotones, wallpapers, screensavers, themes, voicetones and audio clips, MMS and cartoon strips.

Matteo Montan, Buongiorno Vitaminic's head of global products, commented: "We are very pleased to work with a leading entertainment company like Hasbro to bring one of their key properties into mobile content. Transformers is a perfect character fit for Buongiorno's extensive content portfolio."

The Transformers licensing deal will bolster Buongiorno's extensive product and services portfolio, which consists of more than 250,000 services and licensed content including characters from the South Park television series, Spider-Man and Garfield.

"We selected Buongiorno based on their expertise in the creation and distribution of interactive mobile services to a considerable number of telcos and millions of mobile phone users across Europe," commented Richard Bickersteth of Hasbro Properties Group.

Buongiorno also has partnerships with 1500 record companies, with over 210,000 music tracks in its portfolio. The company delivers more than 3 million digital contents to mobile phone and email users each month.
