Buka Entertainment bags two KRI Awards

One of which being "The Most Non-Standard Game". High praise indeed.

MOSCOW, Russia (May 23, 2008) – Buka Entertainment, producer, publisher and distributor of high-grade games for PC, is pleased to announce that its games received KRI Awards 2008 at the 6th international Game Developers Conference in Russia (KRI). Prestigious awards from the Russian gaming community went to The Swarm and Collapse.

The Swarm was acclaimed as “The Most Non-Standard Game”. In this game you will start as a normal human, but you will be able to assimilate alien skills and characteristics that will make you more and more powerful to defend yourself, though at the cost of your humanity and mental sanity. Develop your character as you wish, choose the alien skills, or keep him free of them and focus on the weaponry. You decide who you will become! In The Swarm science-fiction became reality and everybody could see how huge spaceships landed over the main capitals of the world. Aliens attacked at once, killing millions of humans in mere seconds. The governments of the Earth answered to the attack with nuclear weaponry, in a desperate movement for destroying the aliens, at the cost of the planet itself… This 3D adventure game offers to the player the challenge of surviving in a wasted Moscow that shows the scars of the alien attack, defending himself from the attacks of other humans looking for a piece of food, and from the dangerous aliens.

“The Best Action Game” title was given to Buka’s Collapse. The game impresses with the striking realism of character, organic combination of cold and fire-arms, colorful impacts and fighting acrobatics, the interactive destroyed world, unique design and deep story line. The world of Collapse is full of anomaly, extraterrestrial creatures and mechanisms beyond our comprehension. The remains of humankind live under the constant menace of alien attacks, while the law of the strongest has taken place over the society. The Lords, an elite group appeared from the total chaos and anarchy and were the only barrier between the total annihilation. Until they were killed… Rodan is the only of Lords left alive. He doesn't know yet that he's only a pawn taking part in a big game… And he doesn’t suspect what is his part in this history. But the life cannot be foreseen. Even a pawn can play a crucial role in the game…

“I’m pleased to see that our projects received high recognition in Russia, and I believe that international community will give them a warm welcome as well” said Victoria Enns, Head of International Sales, Buka Entertainment, “I would like to thank all those who voted for us, and to compliment the developers’ teams. Keep up the good work!”

The English gold masters of both games are scheduled for the end of 2008. For more details on the upcoming Buka titles please visit www.buka.com.
