Following the recent decision of Buena Vista Games to publish its own titles in European territories, the Walt Disney Company subsidiary has selected CentreSoft as its official distributor.

CentreSoft will manage distribution for both existing and forthcoming BVG titles, including movie tie-ins Chicken Little and The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe.

"BVG's decision to publish in the UK was taken because we believe we can best represent our products in the marketplace and find a long term position with retail," said Matt Carroll, director of BVG UK.

"CentreSoft demonstrated to us a passion for product representation and retailer support. When coupled with our unique brands this should help BVG grow, particularly in the independent sector, where our brand has suffered from inconsistency, underperformance and a lack of focus."

CentreSoft's Margaret Pearson said the company was "absolutely delighted" at BVG's decision, adding: "The wealth of licenses in the BVG portfolio is quite breathtaking.

"We believe that our experience of retail distribution and our distribution infrastructure will enable us to add value to the brand while helping to drive sales at retail level."

Based in Birmingham, CentreSoft is the largest games distributor in the UK. The company already has distribution agreements in place with Sony, Vivendi, Eidos, Codemasters, Activision, Zoo and TDK.
