Joins SPIL GAMES as chief tech officer.
Hilversum, the Netherlands - August 26, 2009
SPIL GAMES, the worldwide leader in online gaming websites (comScore Media Metrix), announced today that this October Bret Kelly, former CTO of eBay-owned Marktplaats.nl, will be joining the company as its Chief Technology Officer. In this position, he will focus on quickly building on SPIL GAMES’ technological innovation and development on its web properties to strengthen its worldwide portfolio.
Kelly comes to SPIL GAMES following a four-year stint at Marktplaats.nl, the largest classifieds site in the Netherlands and one of the three biggest websites in the country overall. Kelly joined Marktplaats.nl as its CTO just six months after the company was acquired by eBay and successfully led the Marktplaats.nl technology team through the resulting transition period. Prior to his time with Marktplaats.nl, he spent seven years as a technical consultant with Accenture, where his clients included Microsoft, American Express, Gateway, eBay, and more.
“As the world’s leading network of game websites, SPIL GAMES’ technologies need to be cutting edge, and managing the technical development of these global web properties is sure to be a challenging and enriching experience," said Kelly.
“Bret Kelly’s extensive experience in this field and impressive leadership skills make him perfectly suited to the task of strengthening our technological presence online,” said Peter Driessen, CEO of SPIL GAMES. “With his help, we will be able to bring the millions of game players who visit our game destinations from all corners of the world together in a place where they can play, share, communicate, and connect with one another through integrated social elements.”
