Breakpoint enters the world of the Witcher

January 25, 2007

Breakpoint, a rapidly growing developer and publisher of entertainment software for wireless devices, is going to bring the Witcher to mobile phones as the result of a licensing agreement with CD Projekt, a leading Eastern European publisher of PC games.

The PC RPG to be released by CD Projekt this spring ( www.thewitcher.com) is going to be accompanied by the mobile game developed by Breakpoint. The latter is a 2D side-scrolling platform fighting game with RPG elements. Both games put a lot of emphasis on an innovative combat system.

The Witcher, a well-known brand in Central and Eastern Europe, tells a fascinating story set in the universe created by Polish fantasy author Andrzej Sapkowski, who has sold over a million books worldwide. The hero is a charismatic monster-slayer with enhanced superhuman powers.

"We are proud to create a mobile game featuring Sapkowski's the Witcher character" - said Pawel Feldman, Breakpoint's Publishing and Licensing Manager - "The cooperation with CD Projekt goes smoothly and we have already planned joint marketing activities for the PC and mobile games."

Adam Kicinski, CD Projekt RED CEO said: "The Witcher mobile game is a next step in the process of building our worldwide brand. Breakpoint team offered the best concept, and has a large experience, necessary to distribute The Witcher mobile game around the world."

The Witcher mobile game is going to be another step in implementing Breakpoint's strategy to develop, port and publish several games based on regional licenses in 2007. The Witcher is the second licensing agreement signed this month after the deal with the International Footbag Players' Association concerning a mobile Footbag game.
