Brawl beats Bad Company on UK charts
Super Smash Bros Brawl becomes the third largest UK Wii launch and Nintendo's fourth All Formats #1 this year
Super Smash Bros Brawl was the best-selling game in the UK for the week ending June 28, holding off Battlefield: Bad Company in the debut week for both titles.
According to data provided by Chart-Track, it is Nintendo's fourth All Formats number one so far this year, and the third largest UK Wii launch behind Wii Fit and Mario Kart Wii. Renewed stock of Wii Fit saw that game return to the Top Ten, with sales up 643 per cent. Mario Kart Wii has also returned to the Top Ten after just missing the list last week.
The Top Ten list was shaken up significantly from last week, with seven games on last week's chart - including Alone in the Dark, Race Driver: GRID and Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII - failing to make the list this week.
Last week's number one - Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures - dropped two places to the third position. Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots and Grand Theft Auto IV, two recent number ones, fell to sixth and tenth place, respectively.
Along with Battlefield: Bad Company, two other games - Big Beach Sports and Beijing 2008 - managed to chart in their debut week, at fifth and ninth place.
