Brasil Game Show 2010

Happy Farm and Tibia among main casual attractions at November's event.

Happy Farm, which has 19 million users on Orkut, will have a large presence at this year’s Brazil Game Show in November.

The classic Tibia, very popular in Brazil, will also have a presence at the Show. In addition to these games, new releases will be announced at the event.

You may not have played these games, but certainly your friends are playing Happy Farm, a farm simulator game available on the real time social networking site Orkut from Google. It is just one of many casual games (games available to the general public which are simple and quick to pick up) that are successful in Brazil. The exciting announcement today is that BoaCompra.com, the company that sells Happy Farm, has secured exhibit space at the Brazil Game Show (BGS), which takes place on November 21st and 22nd at the SulAmérica Convention Center in Rio de Janeiro.

In this 3rd edition of the BGS, BoaCompra.com will present its entire line of games. In addition to titles already popular in Brazil, BoaCompra.com has confirmed the launch of games popular among gamers abroad. The goal is to nationalize these games and administer their distribution in the domestic market with versions in Portuguese and with easy payment options. "To the Brazil Game Show we will bring casual games with big names like Street Racer, Happy Farm, FarmVille, Penguin Farm and Lady Popular. BoaCompra is currently in the adaptation phase, taking various browser games and integrating them into the platforms used by Orkut and Facebook," says Christian Ribeiro, director at BoaCompra.

The company started its activities in 2004 as a result of strong demand among Brazilian users for the German game "Tibia," becoming the first official reseller of the game in Latin America. Today they have more than 60 games and thousands of registered users. "BoaCompra actively participates in international events. The Brazil Game Show is an excellent opportunity for even greater exposure of games already known in the domestic market as well as those titles that will launch in the coming months. The structure of the event is very close to what we have seen at large events in Europe."

The launch of the game Crime Craft, which brings together elements from games like Counter Strike and Grand Theft Auto, is another new feature confirmed for the Brazil Game Show in November. Judging by the local popularity of Grand Theft Auto, Crime Craft promises to suit the tastes of Brazilians.

The 3rd edition of the show will host an audience of 20,000 people. There will be 60 exhibitors presenting the latest trends in the gaming market. Sony, Seven, Warner Bros., Codemasters and Electronic Arts are among the companies already confirmed to be present at Brazil Game Show. The show is the first to receive the official seal of the PlayStation platform in the country. Check out the full list of exhibitors at the official site www.brasilgameshow.com.br.
