Brasil Game Show 2010
Expecting over 20,000 participants later this year in Rio de Janeiro.
Brasil Game Show is the largest games show in the country as well as the largest event of the segment in the domestic market. After the success of 2009 with nearly 12,000 participants, Brasil Game Show in 2010 expects to receive 20,000 visitors during the two-day event, covering three times the area used in the previous year. The exposition has become an annual event and it will take place again across two days: November 20th and 21th, 2010.
The brazilian market is becoming ever stronger with the official distribution of consoles like the Playstation (Sony) and XBOX (Microsoft). Estimates say that there are around 15 million PS2 consoles in homes spread throughout Brazil and also point to Brazil as a market with approximately 40 million players on many different platforms. The country has one of the largest distributions of mobile phones in the world, with nearly 200 million devices providing a tremendous opportunity in the mobile market. Brazil has the world championship players in popular games such as Guitar Hero and Pro Evolution Soccer.
Brasil Game Show transforms Rio de Janeiro into the national capital of games. SulAmérica Convention Center, located in the heart of Rio, is the principle venue to showcase games in the country. Building on the success of previous years, the event features new attractions with an expectation of twenty thousand visitors. There will be booths showcasing new product releases and innovations.
“The event exceeded all our expectations. It was a huge hit with audiences, made a great impact in the press and pleased sponsors and exhibitors. I hope that Brazil Game Show will help boost the gaming market in Brazil. The event is already confirmed and will be even bigger with more companies and new attractions!” – said Marcelo Tavares, organizer of the exposition.
Brasil Game Show is designed to maximize opportunities for its partners. Located in a very special city, Rio de Janeiro, headquarters of the 2014 World Cup and the 2016 Olympics, there is untold international potential for growth of BGS into the future.
