Braben to open Dare ProtoPlay festival

Elite creator will give talk on his space trading hit

Industry veteran David Braben will open the Dare ProtoPlay festival next week.

"I have always been impressed by the standard of the Dare to be Digital games. I presented the BAFTA ‘Ones to Watch’ Award to the Dare winning team in 2009" said Braben.

"Now I am delighted to have the first chance to look at this year’s Dare games and share my experience with other developers at Dare ProtoPlay."

Braben will give a talk on his experiences creating space trading game Elite. He's also the founder of Frontier Developments, and has gone on to create successful titles like Kinectimals.

Dare ProtoPlay takes place between August 12 - 14 in Dundee’s Caird Hall and marks the end of the Dare to be Digital design competition. Entry is free, and details can be found here.
