Boonty Accelerates Social Casual Games Strategy with Acquisition of Gamehub
Acquires leading Chinese game development studio
New York, NY - October 24, 2006 - Boonty ( www.boonty.net), one of the largest networks for social casual games, announced today that it is acquiring Beijing-based Gamehub, a creator and publisher of multiplayer casual digital game titles with a strong reputation for high-quality casual games. Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Gamehub provides Boonty with expanded capabilities for original high quality casual game development. This acquisition will fit in the new Boonty offer combining the community-based aspects of casual gaming with the phenomenon of online social networking to realize stronger growth in the multi-billion dollar casual gaming market.
The acquisition of Gamehub strengthens Boonty's new strategic focus on advertising supported social games with game item purchasing. The strategy builds on Boonty's rapid growth and success as a supplier of digital gaming solutions to high-profile publishers, ISPs, and portals.
Boonty is focusing on leveraging the popularity of community-based casual gaming with contextual advertising and mass-monetization of traffic. As an advertising platform, Boonty provides high quality games while showing video ads and in-game ads relevant to the player's interest. As a micro-transaction platform, Boonty's new games will also be designed to facilitate a higher degree of personalized game play though item purchasing for personalized avatars or game play items.
